Oh, look – another crowd displeaser.

So, this has been happening for some time now.  I guess we should have seen it coming, given that the administration’s attempt to make this president’s legacy one of social and economic change has only managed to make social lines thicker and economic stagnation more pungent.

Now, a shot across the bow is a warning. Its purpose is to say: Cease and desist, or the next shot will sink you. But Obama has already told the world — and Bashar Assad in particular — that there will be no next shot.

If he cannot be a peacetime president, then you make him a wartime one.  If he can win a war – any war (it could be a water balloon fight, and they would call that valid) – before he leaves the White House, then the administration can say that they did their job in giving him a legacy other presidents will have to follow.  I ask you seriously, if you were to run for president, is this the kind of legacy you would want as your example?

Obama would simply place everything in suspension while Congress finished its Labor Day barbecues and he flew off to Stockholm and St. Petersburg. So much for the fierce urgency of enforcing an international taboo and speaking for the dead children of Damascus.

Granted, it is great if you want to campaign how you will not be “like the last guy”.  The man takes more vacation hours than I take coffee breaks and nap times.  Which, as a college student, is saying much.

This is a fool’s errand, given to a fool by fools.  And we are foolish to think it is anything other than publicity and another grab at attention.  We simply cannot have Obama being outdone by Miley Cyrus.

Um…shout out!

I’m not a political person by nature.  This is not something I boast, I’m just not clever enough to know when to use all that useful information I have.  However, I think that now and then it’s good to give a shout out to the people who make our political openness a reality.

Namely: Rush Limbaugh!!!

Before you click away, for whatever your political reasons, just come on and read a bit more.  This is a personal bit of me you won’t get too often – and why else are you visiting my blog if not to know everything about me…?

Dash back about 20- years ago: My father was working out in the garage, listening to the radio, when he came into my mother and said “Honey, you really should listen to this guy; you’d really like him.  He says all things we say all the time.”  My mother, always the political firebrand, had practically outlawed talk radio in our house because of its rather offensive attack on people who didn’t conform to the MSM.  However, she gave Rush a chance and instantly he was a household name for us.  I grew up on this man’s genius – I even remember watching his half hour show in the early 90’s for a time, when we had cable.  Between the hours of about noon until mid afternoon, he was always on, somewhere in the house.

Now, I know a lot of people of my generation (you know who you are) think the man is radical and you’ve probably been convinced by the “new” MSM that he’s too old-school crazy for us and doesn’t address the “real modern day issues” anymore.  Fine, whatever.  If you’ve been brainwashed by the MSM ONCE MORE, just like your parents back in the day (ooo, didn’t see that one coming, did ya?) then you go and become another “conservative” zombie: just out to be validated.

However, if you still have two brain cells to rub together, then stop and think about this: If it wasn’t for Rush’s out-spoken attack (yes, I mean attack: just as they attack us every single day with their name-calling) on the liberal party, who had been doing a damn good job making conservatives feel like they were odd man out, we would not even have the balls to think of him as radical.  Why?  Because we wouldn’t have any form of conservative party in this country to call radical or moderate, or fake.  The “fake conservative” shout-out goes to all those loonies who only are conservative when it suits them.  All or nothing, morons!

Today, Rush no longer has to shout into the darkness – against the evil Empire of liberal parties and their never-ending supply of TIE fighter MSM reporters – and tell us to come into the light.  However, he does remind us, now and then, that conservative means taking a stand against a world that demands conformity to the point of everyone wearing the same foil bunny suits (think Star Trek here, people).  He’s no fool; he remembers and he knows just how easy it is to fall prey to being told that “all the smart kids are doing it."

It’s not cool to make fun of the one person who’s responsible for you having no fear to speak your mind.  Real conservatives must fight every. single. day. to keep the foothold we’ve managed to take.  Real conservatives don’t fall down into the cesspool of liberal crazy; they know the difference between taking care of business, and being taken care of.  They understand that Totalitarianism is not dead, it’s just called “liberal” and they know who to thank for that knowledge.

So, before you go conforming and saying that Rush is an old so-and-so, stop thinking with your popularity chart and start thinking with your head again; know the difference between radicalism and a man who’s just having more fun than a normal human being should.

Mega-dittos, Rush.

Edit: Did anyone notice how I managed to get both Star Trek and Star Wars in this post?!  I’m amazing.

Quote of the day

Democracy is a device that ensures we shall be governed no better than we deserve.
  – George Bernard Shaw

Hah!  This is why we should rule by a Republic!  Or complete and utter anarchy.  ^_^

All joking aside, there is some truth to be said about the people having to reap what they sow when they make stupid political decisions based on anything other than ethics and the American way.

Never thought I would find an old guy like this hot, but when a man speaks the truth ya gotta love him.

You will be the first American president that lied to the Jewish people, and the American people as well, when you said that you would defend Israel, the only Democratic state in the Middle East, against all their enemies. You have done just the opposite.   -Jon Voight “Washington Post”

Tell it like it is, Jon.  Then go and reaffirm your Catholic roots or something and I will be your biggest fan.

Hat Tip: Washington Post

Vice President Biden’s F-bomb, dropped Tuesday during the signing of the health care reform bill, was Washington’s version of a “wardrobe malfunction” — but so far, the FCC doesn’t appear to be investigating.

It’s not just that he dropped the f-bomb on national television, it’s that the same people who jump all over anyone else who swears on public TV aren’t even reacting.  As if saying this culturally offensive expletive wasn’t bad enough – he’s not even getting a t’sk from any public party!

But this…this was inappropriate.  The President should not be condoning swearing on national television, V.P. or no.

Biden, talking to a fundraising crowd Wednesday, said Obama told him afterward at a presidential briefing: “You know what the best thing about yesterday was? Joe’s comment.”

Know Thy Rights

“Yesterday, I decided to call Rep. John Garamendi’s (CA-10) office in Washington, D.C. He’s my representative and I wanted to voice my opposition to the Senate Health Care Bill. I spoke with a female staffer and politely told her that, while I support health care reform, I oppose the Senate Bill because it wasn’t true “reform.” She said the Congressman thinks it’s a good bill and that he campaigned on health care reform. I told her I knew that. I also mentioned that I voted for him. When I tried to give her specific reasons why the Senate Bill would harm our system rather than reform it, she refused to listen. She said she was very busy and hung up on me. Being the persistent person that I am, I kept calling back. Each time I tried to finish my point, she hung up.”

Well, this doesn’t bode well for people.  Luckily, we have some men – like the lawyer who posted this – who are on the American’s side and not with the Aliens who have taken over Washington DC.

The Heat is On: Congressman’s Office Says Constituent Calls Are ‘Harassment’.

“While I’m fortunate enough to be able to legally challenge what happened today, others aren’t. The sad part is the democrats know this. They know that Americans unfamiliar with federal jurisprudence can easily be silenced when threats to involve federal agents are made. They know that most Americans don’t want trouble and they’ll go away rather than face the possibility of having to explain themselves to federal agents. That’s why I found this tactic appalling, as a Marine, as an attorney and as a proud American.”

Kinda makes one want to take up law, just to be able to shove such actions back into the face of the people trying to tell us how to live.

Let’s just let the dead horse lie.  The constant kicking is starting to upset the children.

Good day, sir!
